May, 26Franklin Memorial Day observancesThe Franklin Memorial Day observances include a ceremonial laying of wreaths and prayer at the War Memorials at the Franklin Congregational Church at 10 a.m. Ceremonies follow at the Plains Cemetery, Pautipaug Cemetery. Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Giddings Park at 11 a.m. with a program by Franklin School children. Speaker: Lt. Col. John Whitford of the National Guard. Family picnic follows at noon.
