UNDERSTANDING, MANAGING, AND ASSISTING OTHERS TO SELF-MANAGE ANGER
The first event in a six-part workshop/seminar series aimed toward professionals working with school-age children and adolescents will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Konover Auditorium at the Dodd Center at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. Check in begins at 9:00 AM. Due to space limitations and preparation of materials, registration for this free seminar is required. 5 to 8 p.m. Franco-American Civic and Social Club, 116 Club Road, North Windham. Tickets available at the door or from club members. Take out available. Adults $8, seniors 65 and over $7, kids 12 and under $5, and under 5 are free.
HAUNTED CORN MAZE
7 to 9 p.m. Nathan Hale Homestead, 2299 South St., Coventry. Admission is $8 per person, or $25 for families: 2 adults and an unlimited number of children. The maze is not recommended for very young children. Flashlights are suggested. Treats will be available for sale. The corn maze, minus the ghosts and goblins, is open during regular museum hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid-October. Admission is $5 per person.
