Oct, 24Sandy Taylor Scholarship BenefitSANDY TAYLOR BENEFIT Renowned author Wally Lamb will highlight a celebration of the life of poet and publisher Alexander “Sandy” Taylor at by reading from his latest novel, “The Hours I First Believed” at 7:30 p.m. in the Shafer Hall Auditorium, Eastern Connecticut State University, at the corner of Windham and Valley streets, Willimantic. Also on the program is prominent storyteller, Raouf Mama, professor of English at Eastern, who will team up with folk guitarist Bruce John to perform. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The goal is to raise enough funds to create an endowed scholarship in Taylor’s honor. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Alexander “Sandy” Taylor Scholarship at Eastern.
