An “Anti-Slavery Debate” will be reenacted by historians Gail White and Herb Loughery.
Nov, 19Teale LectureTEALE LECTURE Dr. Stephen Polasky, Fesler-Lampert Professor of Ecological/Environmental Economics at the University of Minnesota, will give a talk entitled “Coming Down to Earth: Valuing Nature to Improve Decision-Making.” The lecture, part of the University of Connecticut’s Edwin Way Teale Lecture Series on Nature and the Environment, 4 p.m. at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center in the Konover Auditorium. Free.

Nov, 20Open Mic night OPEN MIC IN ASHFORD An open microphone night will start with a host band, featuring local and guest musicians playing jazz and world fusion at 7 p.m. After that, the microphone will be open. Musicians will be on-hand to accompany you or you may choose to perform solo or with your friends. Coffee, tea, water, soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at a reasonable price.
