| Sep, 24 | Healthcare Provider Discussion | The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region would like to invite all members of the Health & Wellness community to a panel discussion on the critical healthcare, insurance and lifestyle concerns of area health services, human service and medical providers. The intention of this meeting is to help the Chamber and area agencies develop a unified policy statement relative to key health & lifestyle issues. Areas of common concern will be shared with the region’s legislative leaders for consideration in the 2010 General Assembly Session. This event will be held at 8 am in Windham Hospital’s Desrosiers Room. |

| Sep, 24 | Global Warming Lecture | Dr. Kerry Emanuel, one of the world’s leading authorities on hurricanes, will give a talk entitled “A Sober Look at Global Warming.” The fre lecture, part of the University of Connecticut’s Edwin Way Teale Lecture Series on Nature and the Environment, will take place at 4 pm at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, Konover Auditorium. |
| Sep, 24 | Veterans Roundtable | VA Connecticut Healthcare System will host a veterans roundtable, 5 to 7 p.m., Eastern Connecticut State University Student Center Theater, 83 Windham St., Willimantic. Open to the public. Veterans who have never taken advantage of their VA health-care eligibility are encouraged to attend. Service members recently discharged from active duty or those planning to separate from the service are invited to learn more about VA health-care benefits.
