Hospital host annual fun run, nature walk

MANSFIELD — Natchaug Hospital is hosting its second annual “Fun Run & Nature Walk” on Nipmuck Trail on Saturday.

The 5K walk/run will be on the east branch of the Nipmuck Trail.

The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with registration at Natchaug Hospital, 189 Storrs Road.

Heats of participants will then be transported to and from the start/finish line from the main hospital.

The cost per runner or walker is $40, which includes a T-shirt and lunch.

All the proceeds from the event will support Natchaug’s clients and programs. No donations will go toward salaries or wages.

Donations are tax-deductible.

Ashley Laprade, a fund development associate of the hospital, said last year’s event raised almost $5,000 for clients.

Laprade said there is no rain date for the fun run/nature walk.

Natchaug Hospital is a member of the Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health Network.

It provides special education, mental health and addiction treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults.
