One injured in Interstate 84 accident

WILLINGTON — One person was injured with non-life threatening injuries in a car accident last night in Willington.

Around 5:30 p.m., a one-car accident occurred on Interstate 84 eastbound in the area of Exit 70, according to Connecticut State Police Sgt. Eric Haglund this morning.

The operator of the 2017 Toyota RAV 4 was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Haglund.

Willington Fire Department No. 1, which also responded to the scene, said the patient was transported by helicopter to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.

According to emergency radio reports, the patient was pinned and needed extrication.

Haglund said the complete accident report was not available this morning.
